Nijuwan Smith (Henninger HS; Syracuse, NY) from Cayuga CC was named the NJCAA Division III National Player-of-the-Week for November 1-6. Smith averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds in three games during week one of the 2016-17 men’s basketball season for the Spartans. Smith had back-to-back double-doubles over the weekend in the team’s win against Hudson Valley (27pts/10reb)…while collecting 16 points and 15 rebounds in win over Adirondack. Earlier in the week Smith had 20 points and 8 rebounds in a 2-point loss to #5 nationally ranked Herkimer.
