Jefferson Volleyball Gets 3-1 Win Over Spartans

The Cayuga volleyball team traveled to Jefferson CC for a Mid-State Conference match with last year's regional champion. The team came out fast and loud and fought point for point with the Cannoneers, but fell in the first two games by close scores of 25-21 and 25-23. The team continued playing fired up volleyball and took the third game 25-23. For the fourth game the team came out a little slow and could never overcome the early deficit, falling in the match 3 games to 1. The team has shown great fight just can't seem to get over the hump and break through with the big win.

Some of the leaders for the match were, Erica Phillips (Syracuse, NY) with a team high 9 kills. Keirstan Bozeat (Port Byron, NY) also played strong with 7 kills. Up next for the team is the Cara Bryant 2-day tournament at OCC on Friday and Saturday.
