Spartans Crush Corning

The men's soccer team won it's fifth straight Region III game with a convincing 6-0 win over the visiting Corning Red Barons in a match played at Holland Stadium. Cayuga controlled much of the contest taking a 2-0 lead into the half…before outdistancing themselves from the Red Barons with four second half goals. Freshman Ander Echaniz (Deba, Spain) scored 3 goals on the evening for Cayuga. Fellow freshman Alejandro Blasquez (Madrid, Spain) netted two goals…and sophomore captain Paul Coyle (Glasgow, Scotland) scored the other Spartan goal. The Cayuga defensive backfield played strong all evening…while both keepers made a total of seven save to preserve the shutout.

Next up for the Spartans is a tough Mid-State Conference road game on Wednesday at Tompkins-Cortland.
