Panthers Outlast Lady Spartans

The Lady Spartans travelled to Tompkins-Cortland to take on the Lady Panthers in a MSAC game. Cayuga was able to hold back the attacking TC3 ladies for a good portion of the first half creating some of the best defensive stances of the season. The Panthers, however, were able to slip past 3 first half goals.

Second half the Cayuga defense and offense came alive hold back the attacking Lady Panthers from creating chances for themselves. The freshman duo of Michaela Tanner (Union Springs, NY) and Brittney Alton (Fulton, NY) were  impressive in the midfield helping to move the ball forward to fellow freshman Rebecca Segouin (Fulton, NY) who kept the TC3 defenders on their toes. Unable to put one past the Lady Panthers, Cayuga still showed some very strong offensive presence.

Coach Robillard after the game had this to say of the team, "These ladies all play with huge hearts and amazing talents. It so rewarding as a coach to see that from your players. Angie Head (Auburn, NY) has been stellar for us in the goal and has made some big-time saves, in replacing injured keeper Cheyenne Rivenburg."

Cayuga hosts Adirondack CC for the final home game of the season at Holland Stadium on Saturday.
