Spartans Win Thriller in Triple Overtime at North Country

The Spartans were able to keep their winning streak alive at seven straight with a thrilling triple overtime win on the road at North Country CC. Cayuga almost let one get away…when they let the host Saints tie by fouling a 3-point shooter who hit all three free-throws sending the game to overtime….despite the Spartans holding a 6-point lead with less than 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Cayuga hit a basket with a few ticks on the clock left in the second overtime…sending the contest into the third overtime….before holding onto the win.

The Spartans again had a balance scoring attack with 5 or more players in double figures for the third straight contest. Point guard Jojo Staton (Buffalo, NY) was a phenomenal floor leader pouring in 32 points and dishing out 11 assists. Devin Morris (Buffalo, NY) was also impressive with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Amir Stevens (Valley Stream, NY) had 16 points and 8 rebounds…while down low both Nijuwan Smith (Syracuse, NY) and Steven Glover (Harlem, NY) had 11 points. Smith was also a force on the boards collecting 18 rebounds and also blocked 5 shots.
