Lady Spartans Fall to #1 Hawks

The Mohawk Valley Lady Hawks came into to Spartan Hall and showed why they were recently selected as the nation's #1 basketball team in Division III. The Hawks defense made it tough for the Spartans all afternoon in securing the 87-46 victory. Offensively freshman guards Michalea Tanner (Cayuga, NY) and Jasmine Walker (Rochester, NY) were the lone Spartans in double figures with 10 points apiece. Guards Gabby Bell (Syracuse, NY) and Erica Helzer (Port Byron, NY) chipped in with 8 and 7 points, respectively. The team will spend the remainder of this week taking final exams, while preparing for their semester's last upcoming tournament games this weekend at Pitt-Titusville.
