Cayuga’s Holder named MSAC Player of the Week

After two high-scoring games, Cayuga Community College guard Deonte Holder has been named the Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Feb. 10-16.

Cayuga's leading scorer on the season, Holder averaged 27 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games last week for the Spartans.

In a Feb. 12 home loss to Finger Lakes Community College, Holder finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists. In a dramatic away win against Tompkins Cortland Community College on Feb. 15, Holder had 31 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

On the season, Holder is averaging 20.5 points and five rebounds per game. In conference play, Holder was the conference's leading scorer at 22.8 points per game and had the best three-point shooting percentage at 51.1 percent.
