Cayuga’s Esports Finish Strong in NJCAAE Contest

Cayuga Community College's Esports team finished in the medals in two out of three races in the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports' inaugural iRacing invitational on Saturday.

Cayuga finished second in two of the tournament's three races and 11th in the third, scoring a total of 96 championship points. Saturday marked Cayuga's first iRacing competition in any league in the program's inaugural season.

Draven Lefler opened behind the wheel for Cayuga, finishing 11th at Langly Speedway and averaging 23.5 seconds per lap. Dylan Denhaese drove the final two races, picking up second-place at USA International Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Denhaese averaged 23.9 seconds per lap at USA International Speedway and 36.9 seconds per lap at Charlotte.

The NJCAAE will offer a full season of iRacing competition in the Spring 2023 semester.
