Cayuga Community College Baseball rallied in the bottom of the seventh to tie the second game against Herkimer College on Sunday, only to fall to the Generals in extra innings.

After losing the opener 8-2 to the #8 Generals, Cayuga rallied from a four-run deficit to force extra innings in the nightcap before losing 6-4 in 11 innings. The losses drop the Spartans to 9-7 on the season and 4-2 in divisional play.

Cayuga trailed 3-0 in the opener before plating two in the second inning. Brandon Hoftijzer's triple scored Jacob Laird, and Kevin Dolan singled home Hoftijzer to make it 3-2. The Spartans put runners in scoring position in the sixth and seventh but didn't score again.

In the second game, the Generals again built an early lead and led 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth when the Spartans started their rally. In the seventh, Soto-Diaz walked and scored on Chetney's double, with Chetney scoring the tying run on a fielder's choice.

Both teams put runners in scoring position in extra innings but failed to capitalize before the Generals scored two in the 11th inning for the win.
