Spartans Upset #6 Delhi 70-65

The Spartans won their fifth straight Region III contest in beating the nationally ranked #6 SUNY Delhi Broncos in Spartan Hall on Sunday. Cayuga played solid team defense the entire contest and especially down the stretch to hold on for the win. After losing their Region III opener in heartbreaking fashion against Hudson Valley by a point in the closing seconds…Cayuga has won their last five games and has a 5-1 Region III, Division III record.

Glenn Taggart (Fairport, NY) led all scorers with 20 points while collecting 8 rebounds. Joe Godette (New Rochelle, NY) was a monster inside scoring 17 points for the Spartans. Zaki Thomas (Paterson, NJ) was 5-for-5 from the field and chipped in with 12 points. Michael Guity (Syracuse, NY) came off the bench to score double figures with 10 points. Freshman DaVaughn Johnson (Bronx, NY) also supplied the Spartans with some solid minutes off the bench defensively.

The Spartans will take some time to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action on December 4^th at Niagara CCC.
