Cayuga Struggles Defensively in Loss to Corning

The Spartans remain winless in the Mid-State Athletic Conference (0-2), as Corning C.C. goes into Spartan Hall to defeat Cayuga 78-89.  "Until we make a commitment on the defensive end we are going to have trouble winning games in conference," says Coach Tony Borges, "With teams so familiar with each other in conference play you need the necessary stops on the defensive end, and we are not getting them."

Zaki Thomas (Paterson, NJ) led Cayuga in scoring with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals, while Michael Guity (Syracuse, NY) added 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Tyshaun Morris (Queens, NY) added 14 points and pulled down 8 rebounds.  Cayuga plays at Jefferson C.C. January 14th
