Spartan Men Win At Home Over FMCC

            The Spartan men won again at Emerson Park today over Fulton-Montgomery. The scoring started with Nahayo Manesse (Syracuse, NY) with the assist from Bruno Gaudie-Ley (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) in the game's 9th minute. Jaime Carolissen (Cape Town, South Africa) kept the scoring going with a through ball from Toto Tolongo (Liverpool, England), that Carolissen passed by the FMCC keeper into the top corner. Muke Heri (Syracuse, NY) got on the scoring sheet in the 26th minute with the assist coming Carolissen. Will Backhouse (Swindon, England) then sent in a free kick into the box for Tolongo to get his first goal of the season, who headed it just past the FMCC keeper. Sophomore Tyndale Parseghian (King Ferry, NY) got his first goal of the season with the assist coming from Tolongo in the 39th minute. Elias Owusu scored his first goal for the Spartans in the 45th minute with the assist coming from Paiva. At the end of the first half the Spartans lead 6-0.

                Elias Owusu scored two more goals to complete his hat-trick with both assists coming from Mario Paiva in the 48th and 64th minute. Owen Parseghian (King Ferry, NY) scored his second goal of the season in the 76th minute with the assist coming from Nahayo Manesse. Bruno Gaudie-Ley scored from the PK spot, when he was taken down inside the box in the 82nd minute. Mario Paiva completed the scoring with a goal and also added 3 assists.

                Coach Wynne had this to say after the game, "I thought it was a good performance overall. I was happy that some of the players who didn't score yet who got on the score sheet. We have a tough match against TC3 away on Thursday and we have to be ready for that." The Spartans move to 2-1-1 in their conference, and 4-2-1 overall in the region.
