4th Ranked TC3 Too Tough for Spartans

The Spartan men took on nationally ranked TC3 Panthers today in Auburn NY today. The Cayuga Spartans started exceptionally well with the defense anchored by Jason Boxx (Brentford, England), Nelson Oduro (Brooklyn, NY), David Wheat (Moravia, NY)  and Jacob Pritchard (Jordan, NY) playing fantastic to keep the Panthers at bay for the first 30 minutes. TC3 finally got on the score sheet in the 35 minute to take a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later they were 2-0 going into the half-time break.

The second half saw a much better Panthers team which helped them to  stretch the lead even further out of the grasp of the Spartan men. The Cayuga men's soccer team worked hard until the final whistle, but was unable to get on the score sheet. The pace of the TC3 players was too much for the Cayuga men's soccer team losing 6-0 at the final whistle.

We talked to coach Wynne after the game and he had this to say, "6-0 is not a result any team wants to see, but when you play against the 4th ranked team in the Nation, it's hard to try and keep the score respectable. I thought we played very well in the first half and our defense did an amazing job at keeping their shape and offside line high up the field. It could have been a lot more than 9-0 only for their efforts.  We just got to put this behind us and keep moving forward."
