Lazers Upset #4 Spartan Men

Lazers Upset #4 Spartan Men

Cayuga men's soccer has lost its home opener against the Onondaga CC Lazers in a highly entertaining and competitive game. The Lazers got the best of the Spartans defense after 12 minutes of play in the first half with a Hassan Musa goal. The Lazers went up 2-0 with 4:53 left in the first half with a goal by the same Musa, and went up 3-0 early in the second half with a goal by Mc'Cain Spragling from about 25 yards out. The Spartans men were finally able to get on the scorer sheet with 24:47 left in the game with a goal by Daniel Bonehill (Birmingham, England) on an assist by Harry Hill (Manchester, England). The Spartans started to get back their composure and pass the ball better, attacking the well-organized Lazer defense in waves and creating more scoring opportunities, and were rewarded with a PK with 4:27 left on the clock. Sean Richards (Cardiff, Wales) converted the PK, setting up for an exciting end of the game. Unfortunately for the Spartans, it was a little too late, and Blazers held on until the final whistle to pull a very hard fought win.
