Spartans Outlast Hudson Valley for 2-1 Win

The Cayuga CC men's soccer team moved to 6-1-1 on the season with a 2-1 win over visiting Hudson Valley. All of the offense on the day was done in the first half…as the teams held each other scoreless in the second half. The Spartan goals were netted by sophomore captain Cameron Pashley (Aberdeen, Scotland) and freshman striker Mikel Abando (Vizcaya, Spain).
The Spartan defense played strong all afternoon…and were led by freshman trio of Ricky Rodriguez (Pflugerville, TX), Juan Garza (Brownsville, TX) and Daniel Gethin (Glasgow, Scotland). Sophomore goalkeeper Joe Wilkins (Rochester, England) collected 5 saves in the win.
The Spartans have a big Region III West matchup against nationally-ranked Erie on Wednesday 10/5… with a 4pm start at Emerson Field.
