Lady Spartans Drop First Two Games of the Season

The Lady Spartans traveled to Niagara County Community College on Saturday April 11th where they dropped the first two games of the season.  Game one consisted of a lot of defense and very minimal offense.  Kelly Hicks (Auburn, NY) started the game on the mound where she went 3 innings giving up 5 hits and 9 runs.  Offensively the Lady Spartans couldn't find ways to score.  Taylor Hutchings (Auburn, NY) lead the Spartans at the plate going 2 for 2 and scoring the only run of the game brought it by Cassie Weeks (Weedsport, NY).  Game two proved to be much better offensively and defensively for the Lady Spartans.  Allison Chase (Weedsport, NY) hit a triple and had 3 rbis, while Stephanie Solis (Auburn, NY) hit a single with 2 rbis.  Sarah Zakour (Kings Ferry, NY) started the game going 3 innings and allowing 2 hits and 1 run.  The Spartans look to bounce back on Sunday April 12th when they host Jefferson Community College at Onondaga Community College.
