Lady Spartans Drop Double Header to Monroe

The Lady Spartans lost both games on Friday against Monroe Community College.  The first game the Spartans came ready to play as their bats came out hot.  Nina Kowal (Auburn, NY) led the first game going 5 for 5 with 3 doubles, 3 runs and RBI's while Danielle Vuillemot (Auburn, NY) went 3 for 4 with 1 walk.  Vuillemot added 1 run and 2 RBI's, and Jamison Valentino (Union Springs, NY) went 3 for 4 with 2 singles and a triple, while scoring 3 runs and adding 1 RBI.  Unfortunately Monroe answered back with 3 homeruns from 2 different players, and the Spartans ended up dropping the first game 13-8.

The second game proved much of the same with Monroe wasting no time to scoring 3 runs, Cayuga answered back in the first inning with 2 runs themselves.  However Monroe didn't stop after the first inning as they put up 6 runs by the fourth inning.  After three scoreless innings for the Spartans they put up 3 runs in the fifth which was started by Stefanie Mitchell (Onondaga, NY).  However Monroe answered back with another 4 runs in the sixth inning which ended the game 13-5.  The Spartans were led by Stefanie Mitchell who went 2 for 3.  The Spartans hope to find a win this weekend as they take on Finger Lakes Community College Saturday at 11am.
