Vuillemot & Mitchell Earn All-Region Honors in Softball

For the first time since softball was re-introduced as a sport offering here at Cayuga CC…two players have been recognized on the NJCAA All-Region III Division III team. Sophomore outfielder Danielle Vuillemot (Auburn, NY) hit a whopping .522 with 9 doubles and 4 homeruns on the season. She also collected 23 RBI while playing in centerfield for the Spartans.

Sophomore pitcher Stefanie Mitchell (Ocala, FL) collected 11 wins on the mound and a 3.88 ERA while handling the bulk of the Spartan pitching duties. She also was one of the team's leading hitters….hitting a team-high 7 homeruns and .473 batting average.

The Spartan softball program had its best season since it's return to play…narrowly missing the Region III postseason with an 11-15 overall record. Congrats to these two players for being recognized…and the entire team for their efforts this season.
