The Cayuga Lady Spartans dropped a hard fought 53-40 decision at Corning Community College in the conference opener for both teams. The Spartans who led 22-21 at the half were not able to overcome a poor start to the 2nd half with scoring just 4 points in the 1st 10 minutes. Breanne Becker (Lusby, MD) scored 10 points and pulled down 11 boards to lead the Spartans, Maxine Williams (Jamestown, NY) scored 9 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and had 3 steals. Shaqueria Everson (Syracuse, NY) scored 9 points and had 9 rebounds, while Kasey McGrath (Cortland, NY) pulled down 11 rebounds and had 4 blocks. The Spartans continue conference play on January 13th when they travel to Jefferson Community College.
