The Cayuga Lady Spartans earned their first victory of the season in a hard fought 45-38 win over visiting Hudson Valley Community College. With the score tied 37-37 with 3 minutes left Cayuga finished the game with an 8-1 run to even their record to 1-1 on the young season. Shaqueria Everson (Syracuse, NY) led the Spartans with 16 points and 11 boards, while Maxine Williams (Jamestown, NY) chipped in with 14 points and 4 steals, and Cheyenne Rivenburg (Little Falls, NY) pulled down a team high 12 rebounds. The Spartans will look to get their second win tomorrow when they host Adirondack Community College.
