Women's Basketball

The 2011-2012 basketball season will be Jim Alberici’s fourteenth as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Cayuga Community College. Cayuga has won 205 games in Alberici’s thirteen years, with a school record 26 wins coming during the 2003-2004 season. The team has qualified for the Mid State Athletic Conference tournament eight times and has won the conference championship in the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 seasons. The Spartans qualified for the NJCAA Regionals in eight of the last eleven seasons and reached the Region III Championship game for the first time in school history 2009-2010 season. They also reached the Final Four in both 2003 and 2004. With a number of quality returning players and a great group of recruits, expectations for the 2011-2012 season are at an all time high.

Jack Cunliffe '84 graduated from Auburn High School, where he was a three-sport athlete. He earned a degree in Retail Business Management at Cayuga. His coaching experience includes nine years as the modified/freshman head football coach at Auburn High School and five years as a varsity assistant there. As of 2011, Coach Cunliffe enters his fourteenth season with Cayuga Community College athletics. He lives in Auburn and is employed with Time Warner Cable.

Coach Pinckney is a lifetime resident of Cayuga County. A self-employed business owner with a degree from Cayuga Community College, he was the girl’s junior varsity coach at Union Springs High School for nine years.
