The Lady Lakers from Finger Lakes Community College showed why they are a NJCAA top 10 team this afternoon, claiming a 13-0 win over the Lady Spartans. With the loss the Spartans fall to 0-8-0 on the season, 0-3-0 in MSAC play.
The Lady Spartans did have some nice moments in the match, the brightest being Danielle Mayville's penalty kick save in the first half. The back four held the Lakers scoreless up until the 30th minute, with Madison Wedyck, Kylie Clifford, Kate Coningsby and Libby Henry all handling their roles well. Coach Renaud noted the continued lack of depth due to three season ending injuries also has had an impact on the team as the matches carry on.
On the day, Mayville registered 30 saves, and Madison Robillard was able to put the lone shot on goal late in the second half.
