Lady Spartans Still in Search of First Victory

The Raiders from Fulton Montgomery visited the confines of Auburn this afternoon and came away with a 6-0 victory over the Spartans.  The game was a tale of two halves as the Raiders would post 5 goals on the board after the first 45 minutes, then the Spartans settled in for the second stanza, giving up and early goal, while putting forth a valiant effort in attempting to claw back into the match as the game carried on.  Starting goalie Danielle Mayville was forced to leave the match near the halftime with a head injury, but able to return to play the field in the second half.  Reserve goalie, Lindsay Cottrell did a nice job of filling in for Mayville for the last 50 minutes of the match.  Madison Wedyck continued her solid play, creating a number of combination plays up the width of the field, to put Madison Robillard into scoring positions.

The Spartans are on the road again this Saturday, on the campus of Erie Community College, with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
