The Genesee Community College Lady Cougars dominated the Lady Spartans this afternoon on their home turf field in Batavia, NY. The Spartans hung tough through the first 22 minutes, keeping the game a scoreless tie, but Genesee's depth and the Spartans limited bench combined for tired legs in Cayuga's defensive end, and they would take a 5-0 lead into the break. They would double up their lead, leaving the final outcome 10-0 at the end of 90 minutes.
Danielle Mayville (29 saves) continued to show her leadership and exceptional play in goal, with Madison Wedyck and Madison Robillard putting together solid combination play through the middle third.
The Lady Spartans return home on Saturday to take on the #4 ranked team in the NJCAA, Finger Lakes Community College, at 1 p.m.
