Cayuga Gets Back to Their Winning Ways

Cayuga moves back to 500 after a 4-0 win over visiting Niagara. Niagara started the game on the attack and had a few good chances on a sluggish Cayuga defense. Bre Becker was able to make a few great saves to allow Cayuga to grab the game and make it their own. Sophomore Maddie Robillard (Fulton, NY) opened the Lady Spartans' scoring account with a nice though pass from Martha Caster (Fulton, NY) and was able to bury the prefect shot. Cayuga made it two a few minutes later as Maddie Robillard was taken down in the box for a penalty kick in which Robillard tucked the shot neatly away.

Cayuga added two more in the second half as Brooke Mayville (Marion, NY) with a pretty and first goal of the season from a close pass from Maddie Robillard. Robillard adds one more with an assisted blast to complete Cayuga's scoring.

After the match Coach Robie had this to say, "We started very shaky and had trouble settling down in the first part of the first half. The first goal helped us focus and got us back playing like we are capable of playing. Anytime you have a player come on the field and get three goals and an assist it makes the whole team raise their game up. Additionally, we were able to get some very strong play from our subs Haley Lukins (Weedsport, NY), Emma Bergerstock (Weedsport, NY), and Libby Henry (Clyde, NY) to secure the match. I am happy for the ladies and this win for them."

Bre Becker recorded another shutout with 5 save

Cayuga heads to Broome Community College on Wednesday for their second conference game of the season.
