Lady Spartan Struggle vs. Jamestown

Cayuga women's soccer suffers another home lost to visiting Jamestown Community College in a hard fought match in the rain.

Cayuga held strong in the first half and defensively held back Jamestown to only one goal. Jamestown was able to open up the second half with a quick end to end goal to make it 2 to 0. The Lady Spartans came alive with offensive attacks of their own. Producing great opportunity after great opportunity, Cayuga was able to put one the board with a nice shot by Michaela Breeze (Auburn, NY) that rebounded off the goalie's hands right into the path of a rushing Martha Caster (Fulton, NY)…who had a lovely slam shot into the back of the net. Down 2 to 1 the Cayuga pushed and pushed with even attempt shot by Breeze which hit the cross bar and bounced out.

Cayuga pushed forward and forward in hopes of an equalizer only to leave their defense exposed and gave up 3 late game goals to lose 5 to 1.

Goalkeepers Cheyenne Rivenburg (Little Falls, NY) had 7 saves…while Sierra Teeter (Red Creek, NY) had 21 saves in relief of the injured Rivenburg.

Cayuga travels Genesee Community College on Wednesday.
