Lady Spartans Win on the Road

Last night the Lady Spartan Volleyball team took their first Mid-State Conference win on the road at TC3. The energetic 2014 squad, which is comprised of 10 freshman and 2 sophomores, has worked hard through the preseason to develop their young talent. The team shows a lot of promise and has high expectations for a solid season.

Offensively, freshman Heather Thompson (Solvay, NY) stole the show with 13 kills and 5 aces. Fellow freshman Valerie Froeming (Alturas, CA) and Jadda Phillips (Syracuse, NY) were also major contributors to the team's success. Froeming boasted a .500 kill average while Phillips shined with 28 assists and 2 aces. Defensively, sophomore libero, Lexi Tucker (Union Springs) lead the team with 16 digs putting her at 124 on the season.

The Lady Spartans are back on the road again this weekend as they travel to Jefferson Community College to participate in their annual tournament. They kick off pool play against Onondaga Community College and Monroe Community College.
