Spartans Fall Only to Rise

Spartans Fall Only to Rise

While the Spartans are walking away from today 0-3, the team was not short on defense or excitement. Coach McDonough said, "This is the best I've seen my team play all year. Today we faced the toughest competition of the season and really stepped up to the plate. Our transitions were on point, our defense was aggressive and scrappy, and our communication was energetic and fiery. I wish we had shown this type of energy from day one but I'm so excited to see everything finally coming together." Heather Thompson (Solvay, NY) was the clear team leader today boasting a season high of 9 solo blocks, 26 kills, 9 aces, and 26 digs. She also finished the day passing 73% on serve receive.  Lexi Tucker (Union Springs, NY) was as major defensive asset bringing 47 digs to the table. Ashlee Cross (Brooklyn, NY) really came to life on defense making some indescribable saves. Her speed and tenacity brought the crowd to their feet on multiple occasions.

The Spartans travel to Davis College on Wednesday and then to Onondaga Community College on Saturday where they will face off against Mohawk Valley, Herkimer, and Fulton-Montgomery Community Colleges.
