Lady Spartans Show Success at Jefferson POD

The volleyball team travelled to Jefferson CC this past Saturday and showed some success. Playing in 4 matches the team finished 3-1 on the day. First up was Columbia Greene CC, the Lady Spartans swept them in 3. Up next was a tough Adirondack team, the girls fought hard and the scores were close, if not for a few untimely tough calls by the referee the outcome may have been different. Suffering a little disappointment from the previous match the team dropped the first two games to Hudson Valley, only to roar back and win the next three games to win the match in thrilling style. Finally, to end the long day was North Country CC. The team started fast and cruised to a 3 games to 0 win, and a much needed day off.

Some of the days outstanding Spartans were, JoJo Gromoske (Clyde Savannah, NY) filling in for Jadda Phillips(Corcoran) who injured her thumb, took over the setter position and guided the team to a 3-0 win and contributing 31 assists. Nyasha Terry (Brooklyn, NY) fighting thru her own painful injury provided a team high 59 kills. Samantha Ryan (Jordan, NY) led the team with 6 aces, playing in only 3 of the matches.

Up next for the Spartans is a road trip this Wednesday to Jefferson CC
