Spartan Volleyball Comes All the Way Back to Beat Davis

The Cayuga women's volleyball team opened their home schedule with a match against Davis College.  Coming out of the gate slow…the Spartans lost the first 2 games of the match. The team finally started to play better volleyball in the third set only to see starting setter Jojo Gromoske (Clyde-Savannah) be forced out due to an injury. Thrown into the game unexpectedly, Keirstan Bozeat (Port Byron) stepped in and did a very nice job finishing off game 3 and leading the team to a thrilling come from behind 5-set win. Some of the team statistical leaders on the evening were Makayla Stokes (Institute of Technology) with 41 digs. Jania Davis (Notingham) and Erin Brahney-Taro (Weedsport) followed with 16 digs apiece. Leading the attack was Holly Cook (Weedsport) with 7 kills and 2 aces. Next up for the team is a tough Region II POD match play at TC3 on Saturday 9/10.
