October play

As October begins the Spartans were looking to try and turn their season around with a game this Wednesday against Jefferson Community College. The Spartans lost all three games. The first and second matches ten to twenty-five and the third match seven to twenty-five. The Spartans were able to have six kills through all three matches.

            On Friday October 5th the Spartans face Onondaga Community College and Finger Lakes Community College in a double header with only two matches each. Against Onondaga the Spartans lost five to twenty-five and nine to twenty-five. Facing Finger Lakes Community College is always tough for the Spartans. The fight was won by Finger Lakes which they beat the Spartans three to twenty-five and nine to twenty-five.

            The next day the Spartans had another double header against SUNY Broome and Northampton Community College. Against SUNY Broome the Spartans played two matches. Losing ten to twenty-five and nine to twenty-five. Brooke Burton had six digs, four returns and one kill. Once again the Spartans played only two matches against Northampton Community College. The Spartans fell nine to twenty-five and eleven to twenty-five.

            On October 10th the Spartans faced Corning Community College for the third time this season. With a much closer match this time the Spartans lost fourteen to twenty-five, eleven to twenty-five and seventeen to twenty-five. Kali Nolte had six returns, five attacks and one kill for the Spartans.

            On Sunday October 14th the Spartans had their last tournament of the season on their own court. First they faced Jamestown Community College. Unfortunately the Spartans fell short, losing eight to twenty-five, four to twenty-five and ten to twenty-five. The next game was against Erie Community College. Once again, the Spartans fell five to twenty-five, thirteen to twenty-five and fifteen to twenty-five. The last game of the day against Niagara Community College was much closer of a game. The Spartans couldn't hold them off and lost the first match sixteen to twenty-five, the second ten to twenty-five and eighteen to twenty-five.

            Tuesday October 16th was the last game of the season for the Lady Spartans. They faced Davis College one last time. The Spartans lost twelve to twenty-five, fifteen to twenty-five and zero to twenty-five. With a tough season behind them they will use this as a foundation to produce a better season for Spartans to come!
