The beginning of september

            The Spartans volleyball team have had a very busy September! First they faced Herkimer College. Unfortunately the Spartans lost the first match twelve to twenty-five and the second match nine to twenty-five. Standout Ashley Stevens had four returns and four digs. Next the Spartans faced Monroe Community College! Losing the first match ten to twenty five and the second match five to twenty five. Brooke Burton had one spike, one kill, two returns and one dig. Up next was Corning Community College. The Spartans lost ten to twenty five and eighteen to twenty five. Taylor Jackson had one return and six digs for the Spartans.

            Facing Corning Community College a week later the Spartans knew what they were going to be facing. Unfortunately the Spartans lost all three matches. The first match ten to twenty-five, the second five to twenty-five and the third twenty to twenty-five. Jalayisah Lacey walked out with three and a half points, one return and three kills. The Spartans next faced Tompkins-Cortland Community College. Losing the first match seventeen to twenty-five, the second ten to twenty-five and the third thirteen to twenty-five. Meghan Alphonso had seven attacks, two returns and six digs. Facing SUNY Broome Community College for the second time the Spartans were hoping for a different result. The Spartans lost the first match nine to twenty-five, the second match thirteen to twenty-five and the third eleven to twenty-five. Over all the Spartans had nine kills throughout all three matches.

            On Tuesday September 11th the Spartans faced Finger Lakes Community College. The Spartans lost the first match thirteen to twenty-five, the second seven to twenty-five and the third twelve to twenty-five.

            Saturday September 15th was a big tournament day for the Spartans. Which they faced Monroe Community College, Genesee Community College and Finger Lakes Community College. Monroe Community College was able to hold the Spartans off seven to twenty five the first match, eighteen to twenty-five the second and twelve to twenty-five for the third match. After a tough lose it was time to face Genesee Community College. The Spartans lost nine to twenty-five the first and second match and fourteen to twenty-five the third. The last match up of the day against Finger Lakes Community College didn't go exactly how the Spartans wanted. The first match was close but the Spartans lost twenty-one to twenty-five, the second match fifteen to twenty-five and the third match sixteen to twenty-five.
