Cayuga Community College's Clay Target team endured high winds in its most recent round, but the Spartans continue to show signs of improvement despite the challenging conditions.

The team has completed three rounds this season, with freshman Nolan Coningsby finishing with the team's individual high score the past two rounds. The most recent round, on Oct. 8, was difficult to say the least, said Coach Shea Beachner.

"This most recent week, those were some of the worst weather conditions I've seen people compete in. Sustained winds of almost 20 miles per hour, with gusts over 30 miles per hour," she said. "But the team did a great job focusing on fundamentals, and I was proud of how they handled the situation."
