Cayuga Community College Baseball completed the season sweep of Jefferson Community College on Thursday behind dominant starts from Cam Langille and Christian Eddy.

The Spartans raced out to an early lead to take the first contest by a 9-2 margin, then pushed a run across in the final inning for a 1-0 win in the second game. Cayuga is now 15-11 on the season and 10-4 in East Division play.

Cayuga jumped out to a four-run lead in the first inning of the opener, with Mike DeRosa driving in a run with a single and Owen Browne, Kevin Dolan and Brandon Hoftijzer also collecting RBIs. The Spartans added another in the second when Bradley Soto-Diaz stole home, then made it 6-0 in the third on Browne's solo homer. DeRosa singled home two more in the sixth to end the scoring.

Langille limited the Cannoneers to just three hits and two earned runs in six innings for the win. DeRosa went three-for-four with three RBI, Browne went two-for-two with a homer and three runs scored, and Soto-Diaz had three runs and three stolen bases.

In the second game, Eddy controlled the Cannoneers, surrendering only two hits in a complete game shutout. The Spartans' lineup was also held in check, though, until the seventh inning, when they loaded the bases with one out. DeRosa hit an infield fly that the Cannoneers let drop, and Cayuga's Perry Chetney raced home with what turned out to be the winning run.

Chetney went two-for-three in the second game, with Alex Gaudet and Kevin Dolan both going one-for-three.

The Spartans are on the road again Sunday, April 28, at Corning Community College. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for noon.
