Clay Target Scores Well in First 2 Rounds

Cayuga Community College's Clay Target team is off to a strong start this season after two weeks of competition.

Competing at the Baldwinsville Rod and Gun Club, the first two weeks saw team members score solid rounds, with several improving their scores from the first to second week.

"All of our shooters have scored in the 20s (out of 25 shots) during practice, and they're continuing to grow," said Coach Shea Beachner. "Shooting conditions have been good. All of our shooters are increasing in aspects of shotting."

Scores from Week 1 and Week 2 are below. Each shooter fires at 25 targets per round, with two rounds completed in each competition.

Week 1

Dylan Bull:            19/25 in the first round, 19/25 in the second round: 38 out of 50

Griffin Dewitt:       23/25, 20/25: 43 out of 50

Hunter Kot:           22/25, 22/25: 44 out of 50

Kyle Lampman:     17/25, 18/25: 35 out of 50

Darwin Warner:    20/25, 18/25: 38 out of 50

Kyle Wise:            17/25, 22/25: 39 out of 50

 

Week 2

Dylan Bull:          16/25, 19/25: 35 out of 50

Griffin Dewitt:     22/25, 22/25: 44 out of 50

Hunter Kot:          20/25, 24/25: 44 out of 50       

Kyle Lampman:     19/25, 20/25: 39 out of 50

Darwin Warner:     13/25, 11/25: 24 out of 50

Kyle Wise:            21/25, 19/25: 40 out of 50

 

After two weeks, Kot is tied for 228th out of 657 students in the league, and is tied for 22nd out of 58 students in the team's conference. Dewitt is tied for 373rd in the league and 35th in the conference.
