Spartans Lose to Lazers

Cayuga Community College Men's Basketball couldn't overcome a slow start on the offensive end against Onondaga Community College on Saturday.

The Spartans fell behind early and couldn't catch the Lazers, losing 84-65 on the road. The loss drops Cayuga to 4-11 on the season.

Cayuga's offense struggled in the first half, and the Lazers ran out to a 41-18 lead at halftime. The Spartans' offense responded with almost 50 points in the second half, but they were not able to catch the Lazers.

Tony Borges led the Spartans with 27 points and also grabbed 11 rebounds. Marcus Pasha also had a double-double, scoring 12 points and finishing with 17 rebounds. Desean Strachan had 12 points and three steals, and Jorge Jimenez had four assists.

Cayuga is on the road Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Panthers defeated the Spartans earlier this month by an 81-53 final. Wednesday's game tips off at 5 p.m.
