Bio

Coach Borges begins his 16th season at the helm of the Spartans basketball program.  Borges has 143 wins, all at Cayuga.  During that time his team won the regular season Conference Championship (2011-2012), and the Conference Tournament Championship (2011-2012).  Coach Borges has four Region III Tournament appearances, two Coach of the Year Awards, and his team made it to back-to-back Conference Tournament Championship games (2011-2012 & 2012-2013) and 2017-2018 during his tenure.

A native of Auburn and an Auburn High School grad, Coach Borges was a 5th team All-State guard, and a four-year starter on the basketball team which he helped lead to two Section 3 AA Championship games.  He also starred as the quarterback for the football team. In 2022, Coach Borges was inducted into the Auburn High School Athletic Hall of Fame.  He played one year of college basketball at Collin C.C.C. in Plano, Texas and was the starting point guard for legendary coach Jim Sigona. Tony was named one of Central New York’s 75 all-time greatest high school boys basketball players in 2018. Tony resides in Auburn with his fiance Courtney and three kids Tony, Ava and Anfernee.
