The Spartans started the 2016 regular season with long road trip to Fulton-Montgomery CC, looking to improve upon its 11-5 record from a year ago…and a return trip to Region III post-season…where they hope to revenge their loss in the "B" Championship Game. The Spartans enter the season ranked #3 in the Region III Coaches Poll.

The Spartans were impressive in their 8-2 victory over the host team Raiders. Cayuga was lead offensively with 3 goals from freshman Mikel Abando (Vizcaya, Spain) and 2 goals each from freshman Selim Prenci (Bristol, England) and returner Daniel Bonehill (Birmingham, England). Cody Mitchell (Auburn, NY) scored the other goal for the Spartans.

The Spartans travel to meet Mid-State rival Lazers from Onondaga in their first conference game of the young season on Wednesday 9/7 at David Murphy Field.
