Cayuga Community College Men's Soccer made it six straight wins and five shutouts to open the 2024 season on Saturday, this time over SUNY Broome.
The #5 Spartans defeated the Hornets by a 7-0 final, with nine different players contributing with goals or assists. The regional and conference win makes Cayuga 6-0 in Region III play and 3-0 in Mid-State Athletic Conference competition.
Scoring goals for Cayuga in the match were Jordan Mati, who found the back of the net twice, Jake Botterill, Jack Thomas, Reece Harper, Hayden Poole and Toshko Toshkov. Botterill and Kai Reading each had two assists, with Thomas, Rafferty Campbell and David Marin also having assists.
The win is Cayuga's fifth road win of the season. Cayuga's next six matches are home at Falcon Park, starting with conference opponent Finger Lakes Community College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
