Spartans Dominate in 8th Win

Cayuga Community College Men's Soccer dominated from the kickoff in Sunday's home win over Erie Community College.

The Spartans built an early lead and didn't letup in the second half on their way to a 9-0 win over the Kats. Cayuga, now ranked third nationally, moved to 8-0 on the season with all eight wins coming in Region III play.

Cayuga scored early in the first half, with Joseph Edet knocking in the opener on an assist from Bigad Sid. The Spartans added five more goals to make it 6-0 at the break.

In the second half, Jake Botterill opened the scoring on a penalty kick before the Spartans added two more goals while their defense completed the shutout for the final margin.

Cayuga received statistical contributions from much of the roster in the win, with Botterill finishing with three goals and Archie Collins having two assists. Edet, Kai Reading, and Sid each had a goal and an assist, and Reece Harper, Oliver Bowman and Toshko Toshkov had goals. Will Fearon, Jordan Mati, Hayden Poole and Aidan Barrow had assists.

The Spartans are home on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 5 p.m. to host #7 Onondaga Community College.
