Bio

Ilcu enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Spartans men’s soccer program. During his time with the Spartans, Ilcu has been instrumental in working with the goalkeepers and also in doing conditioning training with the team.

A native of Romania, Ilcu came to the U.S in 2008, after spending a few years playing professionally in the 3^rd tier of Romanian league. Ilcu has also played college soccer in Ukraine for Precarpattya University, while also being a physical teacher. Ilcu holds a Category 1 referee license with the Romanian Soccer Federation, and resides in Auburn NY with his wife and their two daughters Brianna and Alyssia.
