The Cayuga Spartan volleyball team defeated Tompkins-Cortland Community College last night 3-0. Several of the girls boasted impressive stats including sophomore middle blocker, Ashley Leger (Liverpool, NY), 4 kills, 2 aces, and 5 solo blocks. Freshman outside hitter, Shanna Shaff (Lansing, NY), went on a 13 run serving streak in the second game earning 9 ace points for the team. Shanna also had 4 kills and 3 digs. Sophomore setter, Katie Byrnes (Jordan-Elbridge, NY), had 4 kills, 3 aces, and 11 assists.
The team celebrated the early home victory but remain focused on the upcoming weekend as they travel to Jefferson Community College on Saturday for their first tournament of the season.
