This past weekend the Cayuga Spartans went 2-1 at the Onondaga CC Regional POD defeating Herkimer and Mohawk Valley. Lexi Tucker (Union Springs, NY) finished the day with 76 digs; 30 against Mohawk Valley alone. Against Herkimer, Tanasia Green (Syracuse, NY) finished with a .333 attack average, 9 digs, and 4 aces.
The Spartans dropped a match to Fulton-Montgomery Community College but not without a fight. After a slow start, the Spartans put a lot of pressure on FM's powerful attackers, posting 9 solo blocks and 7 more assisted blocks. Nyasha Terry (Brooklyn, NY) was responsible for 5 solo blocks and one block assist. She also had 3 kills in the match.
Other notable stat leaders include Heather Thompson (Solvay, NY) and Jadda Phillips (Syracuse, NY). Thompson finished the day with 32 kills, 9 solo blocks, and 25 digs. Phillips had 58 assists and 6 aces.
The Spartans will play Onondaga Community College at home on Wednesday at 6pm in Spartan Hall.
