Lady Spartans Down Lady Panthers

The Cayuga Spartan's volleyball team travelled to TC3 for the season's first pod play. The day started with a thrilling 5 set win over TC3 coming from behind in game 5 to win 15-10. The team then played Broome CC losing in 3 games, but put up a determined fight. The team was not able to overcome the relentless attack Broome was able to maintain. To end the day, the Spartans played last year's conference champs Corning CC, again falling in 3 games. The team is continuing to improve and the defense has looked better each game. Some of the standout players on the day were Keirstan Bozeat (Port Byron) who finished the TC3 match with a whopping 33 assists. Holly Cook (Weedsport) chipped in with 19 kills on the day, and Erin Brahney-Taro (Weedsport) with 17 kills. Up next is a difficult road trip to Finger Lakes on Tuesday.
