Spartans Overpower Timberwolves in Home Opener

Cayuga Community College Men's Soccer dominated SUNY Adirondack on Saturday, scoring six first-half goals en route to a shutout victory in the Spartans' home opener.

Cayuga tallied two more goals in the second half to complete the 8-0 win, with Jack Thomas finishing with a hat trick and an assist to lead the Spartans' attack. Cayuga is now 2-0 on the season, with both wins coming in Region III competition.

Jake Botterill added two goals and an assist, Alex Maciariello and Raffaele Mathews finished with a goal and an assist apiece, Rafferty Campbell had a goal, and Joe Davison, Adam Mohaiti, Chris Tielrooij and Leo Wall each had one assist.

The Spartans are back home Tuesday, Sept. 5, to host non-regional opponent Lackawanna College. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
