A strong team performance helped Cayuga Community College Men's Soccer overcome an early deficit to net a road win over Jefferson Community College on Friday.

Trailing 1-0 early in the first period, the Spartans rallied for three goals before the break and then held off a late Cannoneers rally to pick-up the 3-2 win. The victory makes the Spartans 4-0 on the season, with a 3-0 mark in Region III play and a 2-0 record in Mid-State Athletic Conference competition.

Jefferson netted an early goal to take the first lead, but the Spartans rallied with three goals across 20 minutes in the first period. Raffaele Mathews, Chris Tielrooij and Jake Botterill tallied goals for the Spartans, with Alex Maciariello registering two assists.

Neither team scored in the second period until the Cannoneers narrowed the Spartans' lead to 3-2 with less than four minutes remaining.

Cayuga is back on the road Saturday, Sept. 16, at Erie Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
