Cayuga Community College Men's Soccer coasted to a Region III win over North Country Community College on Sunday.
Eight Spartans scored en route to a 14-0 home victory, including five goals for the Spartans' season-leading goal scorer, Jake Botterill. The win brings Cayuga's record to 7-2 on the season and 6-2 in Region III play.
After being held scoreless for the first 14 minutes of play, the Spartans erupted for eight goals before the break to put the match away. Cayuga added six more in the second period.
Jack Thomas and Alex Maciariello each scored two goals, with Thomas adding two assists. Chris Tielrooij, Joe Davison, Raffaele Mathews, Will Fearon and Prince Ablet each scored goals, with Tielrooij leading the team with four assists and Davison finishing with two assists. Mathews also had an assist, as did Olivier Platenburg, Aaron Singleton, and Luca Gazzi. Botterill added two assists to his five goals.
Cayuga is on the road Wednesday, October 4, at Hudson Valley Community College for their next match.
