The Cayuga Lady Spartans started off the season with a heartbreaking 57-54 loss to Division II Dean Community College at the Roxbury Community College tournament in Boston MA. Cayuga trailing by 10 points early in the second half battled back to tie the score with under 2 minutes remaining but could not hold on. Sophomore Tyresha Mathis (Syracuse, NY) led the Spartans with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 blocked shots. China Agnew (Syracuse, NY) scored 16 points and made 4 three pointers, and Latina Smith (Syracuse, NY) chipped in with 11 points.
