Despite a very gritty performance the Cayuga Lady Spartans dropped a hard fought 77-60 decision to Division II Genesee Community College. The Spartans trailed by 10 at halftime and were able to cut the lead to 1 but were not able to hang out down the stretch. Maxine Williams (Jamestown, NY) led the Spartans with 15 points, while Allison Chase (Weedsport, NY) scored 12 points and Sydney Patzke (Phoenix, NY) Shaqueria Everson (Syracuse, NY) and Breanne Becker (Lusby, MD) all chipped in with 8 points. Kasey McGrath (Cortland, NY) led the Spartans with 9 rebounds. Cayuga opens the conference season at Corning Community College on Thursday January 8th.
