Lady Spartans Find Ways to Win

Playing with only 5 players dressed the Cayuga Lady Spartans showed tremendous heart and determination in overcoming a 10 point second half deficit to get a much needed road victory at Finger Lakes Community College.  The Spartans trailed 21-19 at half-time and fell behind 29-19 early in the second half before mounting their comeback.  Cayuga outscored Finger Lakes 35-17 in the last 16 minutes of the game to come away with a 54-46 victory.  Allison Chase (Weedsport, NY) led the Spartans with 20 points and 11 rebounds, Maxine Williams (Jamestown, NY) scored 11 points and also had 11 rebounds, Lakin Mueller (Central Square, NY) scored 10 points and had 6 steals, while Shaqueria Everson (Syracuse, NY) scored 8 points and had 9 rebounds, and Kasey McGrath (Cortland, NY) scored 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks.  The Spartans host TC3 on Saturday February 14th at 1:00 p.m.
